A number of different variations of the game exist, with a variety of betting and betting intervals. However, the most basic version of the game involves a single deck of cards and five players. Depending on the game, a player may be required to contribute a certain amount of money before the deal is made. Some games have fixed limits, which prohibit a player from making any bets that exceed the maximum allowable.
During the first round of betting, the most impressive hand is the best hand. This is achieved by hitting a needed card on the turn and river.
